Boy! It's been forever since I have blogged anything. So, I'm not going to dwell on it too much. Eric told me that my blog had gotten a number of hits this month and thought it would be good if I had fresh material for everyone. These blogs might be long or short or silly or serious, maybe both. You also might be wondering why in the world I chose the title for the blog that I did, so I'll tell you. Some people know this already and some of you will find out for the first time what my number one fear is in all of the world. It's zombies! I'm not even joking. But, I'm not afraid of the zombies that drag their feet and walk. I'm afraid of the zombies that sprint. There have been a several zombie movie that have come out in the last few years that feature this new trait. If you've ever met me, the first thing you might realize is that I'm no sprinter so I would pretty much be toast. Now, I know there are some of you out there that are having a hard time believeing that this could be true. Well, it is. So there. I think one of the other things I find so terrifying about zombies is their one track minds and determined nature to destroy anything or anyone that is living around them. In the films zombies can't be reasoned with. All they want to do is destroy and tear everything to pieces. So, I began to wonder. Are there any of us that way? How many Christians do we know or have heard stories about that are filled with anger and do whatever they can to drag other people down. Just like the zombies on film, they can't be reasoned with. It scares me to think that there are Chraitians out there that claim to know Jesus and yet live lives full of hate. Shouldn't the message of Jesus fill us with hope and make us rich and give us joy? I certainly believe so. To be honest, I was in the same boat as the zombies for years and I never felt satisfied. The reason I broke my cycle of anger and hate is by God smacking me upside the head. I got tired of always being angry and trying to bring others down. It took way too much energy. Jesus came to earth to reconcile us to God and each other. So, I guess my point is that we should realize this and build bridges and love each other and each others differences and stop trying to destroy everything in sight. That's all from me. I've got a fantasy football draft. More next time. Peace. |
